Chester, Lunenburg County

Chester is a village on the Chester Peninsula, Nova ScotiaCanada. It is one of the wealthiest communities in the province as a result of being a popular sailing destination of the yachting elite, with many of the oceanfront estates and mansions being owned by CEOs and wealthy families from around the world.

This quaint village hosts Chester Race Week, where keelboats from all over the eastern coast of North America compete during the second week of August. The waters of Mahone Bay are said to have some of the best sailing of the eastern seaboard.

The Foc’sle Tavern is said to be one of the oldest pubs around, while the Rope Loft Restaurant is housed in an historical fish store right on the Chester Harbour Front. Chester also has recreational and cultural facilities with the 18 hole Chester Golf Club with 180 degree views of front harbour, Chester Yacht Club, The Chester Playhouse Theatre, and the Chester Curling Club.

Chester was a filming site for the TV series Haven and for parts of The Curse of Oak Island.
